Fishing the Marquesas Keys

The Marquesas Keys has been a magical place for me ever since I was a boy. Back then my father took me there to snorkel the target wrecks and the patch reefs. We went there to get away from the crowds.

Now I am fishing the Marquesas every chance I get. I go out there at the drop of a hat to show my clients what I think is some of the prettiest waters in the US. One of my favorite things to do when I get there with a client who has never been there before is say "Welcome To the Marquesas" to let them know that they are someplace special.

See My Rates Page for the many ways I fish the Marquesas.

I am booking Marquesas Keys Fishing charters on board my Yellowfin Bay boats. This gives us the best of all worlds of fishing. Flats, Inshore, Near shore, Reef and Wreck. I have fished the Marquesas for years in my Flats boats but realized the limitations. With the bay boats my clients are happier, dryer, and catch more fish as we are able to cover 5 times the area with my bow mounted trolling motors. For my fly fishermen, its the greatest trip ever. Travel time to the Marquesas in this boat is around 40 minutes.

I am still fishing the Marquesas on my flats boat for those that want the traditional method of fishing. 6 and 8 hour trips only. Please note special pricing below. Also, using the flats boat relies on good weather. If good weather is not present, a flats trip rate will be charged and we will fish the flats that are more protected.

Flats we can fish for Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit, Jacks, Snappers, Huge Barracudas, Huge Sharks, Bluefish, Trout, Redfish, Lady fish, Mutton Snappers, Baby Goliath Groupers, Baby Tarpon and more.

Near Shore we can hit the patch reefs and toss artificials and catch Grouper, Snappers, Mackerel Huge Barracudas, Jacks, Sharks, and many more offering my artificial anglers the most fun they have ever had.

Wrecks there are a plenty. We have 10 wrecks within 2 miles of the shores of the Marquesas to explore and fish. Here we will encounter large Barracudas ready to eat anything, Mutton, Lane, Mangrove, Cubera and Yellowtail Snappers, also Huge Permit cruising the wrecks like they own the place ready to gobble up a crab. Sometimes there are hundreds of Permit.

Fishing Days To make note of this year.

Feb 07 client lands, Trout, Redfish, 2 permit from wrecks, bull shark, 4 Barracudas over 35 inches using top water, 31 inch black grouper using lipped plug, several snappers, and 1 cobia. Bay boat Flats, wreck and reef in one day.

April 07' Client lands 5 bones 1 baby tarpon 2 permit on bait. Bay Boat.

June 07 I had a client double slam in the Marquesas. 3 bones, 2 permit and 4 baby tarpon. On bait.

July 07 a client got a fly slam this summer 07'.

I feel as though neither one of these accomplishments would have happened if not for my Yellowfin Bay Boat.
