Key West fishing report for August 25, 2026 is about the reef fishing. Calm seas and very hot weather have prevailed here in Key West with the dryer air from the Saharan dust keeping our tropical systems at Bay and only providing for us the occasional afternoon convective thunderstorm. Out on the reef seas have been calm. Weather has been balmy and the fishing has been rock solid.

As we get closer to the full moon, the tides will get stronger and the fishing will probably get better the yellowtail fishing we’ve been experiencing on the reef southwest of Key West has been pretty epic. Some of our yellow tails have reached 4 pounds. Getting a limit of yellowtail has not been hard using my unique method of artificial lures and Site fishing in the shallows believe it or not this is where we get our biggest fish.

Working the deep reef out to about 220 feet of water. I have also been experiencing some really good catches of mutton snapper and yellow eye snapper with the occasional gag grouper mixed in. Keep in mind It’s grouper season in the South Atlantic until December 31st. So the fall is still a good time to go target them as well as a good box of tasty snappers

The run out to some of the locations where I fish for the better fishing can be up to 40 minutes long. It’s a good idea to book either a six or an eight hour day to get the most out of it. My 36 foot yellowfin center console cruises at about 38 to 40 knots getting us to the Fish quickly to make the most of your day.

All In Wonder Fishing Charter

If you have a full day to go fishing, check out my All In W hey honeyonder Fishing Charter. Besides the fact that I just love to fish this trip because it offers a lot to the clients that really won’t experience the most out of Key West fishing. This trip provides many different types of fishing with mostly artificial lures Jigs, slow pitch and bucktail, live and cut Bait. It’s a fast pace trip where we go from everything from surface dwellers down to the bottom dwellers, and everything in between that happens to be around or in season at the time.

On this trip, I start off on the shallow water Rex, then to the shallow water reefs then to the mid reef, the deep reef and beyond, depending what’s available. Using mostly spin fishing tackle and some conventional tackle for bottom fishing all made by DAIWA rods and reels. It’s a really fun day and you’re sure to go home with some fillets for dinner and maybe even to ship some back to your home. Ask about it when you call my office direct, which is the only way you can book one of my fishing charters. 305-292-7212 ask for myself or my wife, Gennifer.
