Key West Fishing Report is written by Capt. Steven Lamp a veteran Key West fishing guide. Fishing reports are a great way to see what happened last week. But the fishing forecast is a great way to see what might happen next week or weeks to come based on what we are seeing in the weather forecast and based on seasonal changes.
Below you will see the fishing reports I have written with some forecasts for how i think things are shaping up for when YOU might be able to come fishing in Key West.

One thing has been consistent these last few weeks and that has been the winds. Easterlies have prevailed as high as 25 mph and some
March was pretty good for permit fishing this year. One of my favorite months for permit fishing in Key West.

In my fishing reports I always try to put in a fishing forecast. I realize a report of how things were does not really help those looking to book a day of fishing in the future. This forecast comes from my interpretation of the LRF (Long Range weather Forecast) up against my years of flats fishing, deep sea fishing and reef fishing. I study pressure, moon phases, wind history and forecasted projections, Gulf Stream data and SSTs (Sea Surface Temps). It can be purely speculation. As I move through the year the Key West fishing calendar changes so I try to keep up with that.
